2019 Pinot Noir
Rowanston Reserve
A fresh modern Pinot Noir is grown and produced at Rowanston in the Macedon Ranges. This delicate and fragrant Pinot Noir has aromas of violet, red and dark cherry, with undertones of earthiness and spice adding complexity. The palate is delicate yet richly flavoured with layers of cherry, bramble and spice, with a lingering finish.
Technical Information
The Pinot Noir is crushed and de-stemmed with approximately 20% whole bunch in the mix. Primary fermentation and Malo-Lactic fermentation occur simultaneously in an open fermenter. The process takes up to 10 days including cold soaking before being hand-pressed in a basket press. The wine is settled in a tank before placement into a mix of aged and new French oak and matured over 16-months prior to bottling.
