Rowanston on the Track Winery is located on the northern foothills of the Macedon Ranges on the Burke and Wills track between Lancefield and Heathcote – an easy drive from Melbourne via the Melbourne International Airport.

Our family-run boutique vineyard produces Shiraz, Riesling, Merlot,  Rose, Sparkling Merlot, a sparkling white, Blanc de Noir and a sparkling pinot.During 2012 our wine entered wine shows at Macedon, Kyneton, Daylesford and Federation Square.  Every wine was awarded several medals including best new release – 2012 Riesling, People’s choice – 2009 Merlot as well as silver and bronze medals for all wines.

Special features of this vineyard and farm include original stone fences, fantastic views of the McCarg Ranges including park-like old gardens. Explorers Burke and Wills travelled past the property en-route to Swan Hill on the first leg of their ill-fated journey in August 1861.

Our first wine won several awards at local wine shows, which greatly encouraged us to continue to produce top quality boutique wines. The key to our wines begins in the vineyard with hand pruning, moisture monitoring, minimal to zero use of chemicals and meticulous selection of ripe rich berries for winemaking.

All wines are hand-picked and made using traditional techniques which include gentle crushing, open vat fermentation, and basket pressing, followed by maturation in oak barrels.
