Rowanston property is located at 2710 Burke & Wills Track, Glenhope in Victoria, just over an hours drive north of Melbourne in Victoria.
This working farm has a vineyard, olive grove and winery.
Australian explorers Robert O’Hara Burke & William John Wills travelled 153 years ago on their famous expedition from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria in northern Australia. This journey is reflected in the ‘boot’s on our label.
Rowanston’s rich red basalt soils with a climate of cold wet winters and warm dry summers are a perfect growing environment for slow ripening fruit making rich full fruit flavoured wines.
The key to our wines begins in the vineyard with hand pruning, moisture monitoring, minimal to zero use of chemicals and meticulous selection of ripe rich berries for winemaking.
All wines are handpicked and made using traditional techniques which include gentle crushing, open vat fermentation, and basket pressing, followed by maturation in oak barrels.
